What six months of search did for a small company

A joinery firm in Haute-Savoie went from word-of-mouth jobs to daily inbound calls. Here is the data, the method, and the honest limits.

In March 2026 we took over the web presence of a small joinery company in Haute-Savoie, France. It fits doors, shutters and windows. At the time its work came from a handful of jobs through personal connections. Six months later the owner gets calls every working day and written requests every week, from across the department and into the neighbouring border area. This report shows the numbers behind that change, because we publish data, and almost nobody in this market does.

The method, in four lines

We built a simple site and then answered real questions. Every article targets a problem a homeowner actually types: a shutter stuck halfway, a door that swells in the heat, which of two motor brands to pick. No brand talk. Answers first, the company behind them second.

The numbers, measured

Source: Google Search Console for the client's site, web search, read directly by us as the operator of the site. Over the six months to 16 August 2026 the site recorded 76,500 impressions and 1,310 clicks. The precise daily series covers the 90 days to 21 August: 68,630 impressions and 1,207 clicks.

  • First 28 days of the series: 4.7 clicks a day on average.
  • Last 28 days: 17.9 clicks a day. A multiple of 3.8 in three months.
  • Impressions grew 2.9 times over the same window, to roughly 1,000 to 1,300 a day.
  • The brand query accounts for 23 impressions out of 68,630. Everything else is people with a problem, not people looking for the company.
A small firm is now found a thousand times a day, and almost never for its name.

What actually ranks

The five pages doing the work are all answers. How to unlock an electric roller shutter. What to do when a door swells with heat. An honest comparison of two motor brands. These pages sit at positions 4 to 8 on queries asked hundreds of times a month, and they convert because the person arriving has a problem this company fixes for a living.

What it produced in business

Calls every working day. Written requests every week, observed on the inbox we operate for the client. Jobs that used to come from acquaintances in one town now come from the whole department and across the border area. The client agreed to let us publish these figures without their name, and the search data above is our own measurement.

The honest limits

This is one company, one trade, one local market, six months. Home services search demand is steady and the competition was thin, which made the climb faster than it would be in, say, enterprise software. We also cannot fully separate the site's effect from the owner's own reputation. What transfers to any small company is the mechanism, and it is the least glamorous one there is: your answers are your salesperson.

We run the same method on our own site, and we publish that data too. If you want the playbook, read our guides on being found and cited. If you want it done, talk to us.
